Chronic Pain Management | Health Optimization | Longevity

Welcome to My Practice

I’m a physician with a passion for healing and optimizing the human body. I focus on the treatment of chronic pain, but also work overall health and wellness. My goal is to help you live the best life you can, whether you’re suffering from debilitating pain or an athlete looking to optimize your body and health.

I’ve built my practice to be everything I wish I could have had on my own healing journey. This means:

  • One-on-one care - I want to get to know every one of my patients personally

  • No rushing in and out - I spend 1 hour with every patient

  • The best treatments for you as an individual person

  • A focus on optimum health instead of basic care

  • Support, empathy, and empowerment on your healing journey

This is my passion project. Its my way of practicing medicine the way it should be, with a personal touch and individualized care.

I invite you to explore my site and what I have to offer. If you feel that I could be a good match to help you on your own healing journey please reach out.

Chronic PAin MAnagement

Chronic is a whole body issue that affects every facet of life for sufferers and their loved ones. If that weren’t enough, chronic pain is often accompanied by many other symptoms including depression, anxiety, fatigue, and weakness. It is a downward spiral that can be very difficult to get out of. My goal is to walk you out of this spiral and back to a functional life.

I treat from pain a whole-person perspective, without opiates or injections. I focus on lifestyle and mind-body treatments - an approach that is especially powerful if you have struggled with finding relief from other modalities.

Health Optimization & Longevity

Much of healthcare today is focused on the treatment of acute disease. But health is also about prevention and achieving optimal function of the human body. With chronic disease so prevalent today, this is extremely important.

My goal is to help you achieve optimum function and health. This means feeling better on a day-to-day level while also preventing chronic disease - living longer and better. I am excited to be your guide on the healing path.

Other Conditions

In addition to the conditions above, I also see patients for the following:

  • Mild Traumatic Brain Injury/Post-Concussion Syndrome

  • Chronic Fatigue

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Sports Medicine/Nutrition

  • Developmental Disabilities - particularly caregivers for those suffering from disabilities

Individual appointments are 1 hour in duration. I strive to maintain flexible schedule options: weekday, evening, and weekend appointment slots are available. I am also generally able to accommodate house-calls for the Portland/Vancouver area.

Group sessions involve 6 sessions, 1-2 hours in length, with 6-12 participants. Currently I am focusing on groups for chronic pain management, but hope to add other conditions in the future. The group empowerment that comes from these sessions is extremely powerful and very important for the path towards healing.

Individual Appointment: $200/hr

Group Sessions: $150 for 6 sessions

Note: Group sessions are scheduled based on demand rather than on specific dates as I want the group membership to stay consistent through the 6 sessions. Please contact me for more information on upcoming groups.

Insurance: I am out-of-network for all insurers at this time.

In an effort to allow greater accessibility, I offer 30% of my appointments per month on a donation basis. For more information please contact me below.

About Me

I’m a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) specialist with a passionate interest in improving the overall function of the human body. Much of this comes from my own journey dealing with chronic medical conditions, including chronic pain.

This practice is the manifestation of my dream to treat patients well. I combine the best of what traditional medicine has to offer with many of the techniques that helped me the most, namely diet modifications, movement/exercise, and mind-body medicine techniques. I am also always reading and looking for new knowledge and techniques to add to my “medical toolbox”.

For those interested, I’ve listed my education background below.

  • B.S. in Biomedical Engineering at Pennsylvania State University

  • M.D. at University of Virginia School of Medicine

  • Internship in Internal Medicine at University of Maryland Midtown Campus

  • Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore (served as Chief Resident during final year)

    • Designed/implemented the first physician wellness program for the Sinai PM&R Department

  • Training in Mind-Body Medicine through the Center for Mind-Body Medicine
